Author Chuck Palahniuk first came up with the idea for the novel after being beaten up on a camping trip when he complained to some nearby campers about the noise of their radio. When he returned to work, he was fascinated to find that nobody would mention or acknowledge his injuries, instead saying such commonplace things as “How was your weekend?” Palahniuk concluded that the reason people reacted this way was because if they asked him what had happened, a degree of personal interaction would be necessary, and his workmates simply didn’t care enough to connect with him on a personal level. It was his fascination with this societal ‘blocking’ which became the foundation for the novel.

The heart is not like a box that gets filled up; it expands in size the more you love. I’m different from you. This doesn’t make me love you any less. It actually makes me love you more.

Dawn of The Planet of The Apes (2014) (4/5)

- Who is this guy and where have I seen him before? (Apparently his name is Jason Clarke)
- Very limited screen time for Gary Oldman, what a waste of talent
- The CGI is amazingly amazing
- The apes speak super slow, as if they have barely speak English, but someone apparently bothered to teach them proper grammar as well; they understand tenses!!
- Oh, James Franco is in the previous movie? I cannot really remember. Oopsie.

Friend: Oh, so you have watched Dawn of The Planet of The Apes? How was it?”
Me: (in a hurried and slightly ignorant mode): There are a lot of monkeys …
Sorry, you just caught me in a wrong timing :p

The Family Man (2000) (3.5/5)

- What do you normally do when you are feeling down and unmotivated? For me, I usually google “list of inspirational movies”, “movies that can motivate you”, “movies to lift up your spirit”. But most of the time, I found that I have watched most of the movies mentioned in the online list. So, when I saw one that I have not watched, and it seems that it is not that heavy for my current messed up mood, I decided to give it a go.
- It is cheesy and predictable, but I get exactly what I expect.
- Given the choice to me, I would definitely choose career, no matter how many times I have to repeat the scenario (ok, nobody is going to make a movie out of me, lol)

The Summit (2012) (3/5)

The story of the deadliest day on the world’s most dangerous mountain, when 11 climbers mysteriously perished on K2.

- I normally more interested in documentaries on Mount Everest instead of K2, but why not, the more knowledge the better
- The editing was confusing though, I don’t understand why do they present all the highlights of the incidents in the first 30 minutes of the movie and suddenly coming back to three months before the summit attempts.

Bad Neighbours (2014) (3.5/5)

- Not a huge fan of Zac Efron, but his body is wow.
- It was very messy, I cannot even imagine how the script looks like, but it is funny, so it delivers what’s expected at least.
